Sunaina Kajal

Sunaina, meaning “Beautiful eyes” is a Kajal handmade with herbs in a traditional way. This is a long lasting Kajal safe for everyday use. In fact, Sunaina is the culmination of our search for a good Kajal for our daughter, who is training in Odissi Dance and applies Kajal quite frequently. This small, safe Kajal, easy to carry around and lasting a couple of years is a favourite among women.

Package Design

When we thought of bringing this to a larger audience, we tried out many ways to package it in an eco-friendly and convenient way. We finally came up with this packaging in a glass bottle with a cork that works as a cap as well as an ergonomic holder-applicator. Sunaina, with its unique design become an instant hit when we introduced it in Bhoomi Habba 2019 and some of our friends suggested that we protect the design from being copied.

We gave some thought to our friends’ concerns but, actually decided to make this design available through an Open Source license, to all, in gratitude to the maker culture & maker community who inspire us all the time.
